I was really surprised that my last video & music got a whole ten views over night!
And I honestly mean that as in shock!!!  I'm only ever use to seeing maybe four or five over night from frist uploading a music video, for it then to only freeze around the mid twenties.
Still it made my day and thanks for the comments on the last video - really kind of'ya 😃

Is more of a visual trip out with the first track called "Star surf" which is more or less just a high rez hyper audio intro link as I call it, a stepping stone of sorts or in plain english a filler 😝😝
Which floats you into the "next Piece" which was a lovely snip of footage and audio of a rather lovely looking young lady who was filmed singing street Opera.
This than clips out and in comes the track "Alter33".  Again another high level smasher, but I do like a good banging pumping LEVEL'S ARE WAY TO LOUD MAN style of music.  Great for linking tracks together.  And then from this we slide into "Music food for Alien2" which is just this weird funky slow stomp - really quite an odd funk out groove!
Pleased with all of these little wisphers of tracks, really enjoy working with the audio clips and working them into the music and getting a good seal & fit.

Audio Glitch In Workz

 Been slowly building up new tracks over the last month, I've got some interesting mixtures of music fusion.
I've just finished the next Audio Glitch collection which at the moment is called space shock moon water curve.  Which makes no sense but actually pretty much is the order of samples or audio clips used in each track.
I try to keep a loose theme running in each colletion but it can wobble off track at times!
I am more or less making this shit up as I piece it together 😄
I not overly sure if I'll be spending much time making other types of videos, I'm happy just to produce music and strange looking arty videos if I'm honest.

It's been a great boost to work with my new headphones which have allowed me to clearly pick out individual sounds when working.

Is reality real?

I've recently been spending time watching some of YouTube's top channels and have more or less come to the conclusion that the content is very basic and limited and seems more often to repeat itself and revolve's around slagging and putting down other so called top end channels for click bait drama appeal.
It's very similar to these tragically sad reality tv shows which are pretty much falsely claimed to be real and of the moment.  When what your watching on most accounts are loosely scripted flimsy plots badly acted out by over privileged individuals that have never done a hard days work in thier lifes, which begs the question why hell do you watch this shit in the first place?
In most accounts to this fact we can clearly see the target audience to be the most impressionable of the younger generation which is a worry.
I'm interested that YouTube itself takes very little or limited thought to what kind of effect this has on the minds of those who are still growing into their own minds.
There is clearly very little guidance, but who needs guidance when a channel with five million or ten million and so on is making a lot of money for the business.
Remember that money has no feelings but it can be argued that money can make you feel.
I'll wrap this up although I'd love to dig deeper but I know how futile this all is.
I think it all boil's down to people love drama and in a sad way enjoy watching other peoples misfortune and misery, which is why people love soap opera's so much.
For most people its a fix a drug that makes them feel better about their own lifes and perhaps it helps them in some way to get through the week knowing that their are others out there feelings pain whether it's real or not.
Either way I'll think your find that Humans are very sick puppies indeed and perhaps it's time you took a reality check.

As sure as the sun rose in the light blue and fluffy, he was just plain Trevor Cockins, and as sure as the sun set in the murky black below, she was Tammy Bobbins.
Nibble on feet and danced the fandango with the best of them, admittedly on her own in his rented apartment but nevertheless her heels were on fire.
Licking the floor with lava filled footprints and leaving vapor trails across the bedroom floor.
Trevor slumped himself down on the corner of his bed and as he did Tammy Bobbins also perched herself down ever so prim and proper like and smiled back at him from the full length mirror which had seen better days that leant up against the wall, which if truth be told was the only thing stopping the cracked and crumbling wall from falling down.
Trevor pulled the cheap pink nylon wig from his head and wiped the sweat from his brow, lifed his right buttock and farted.
Tammy very carefully and with the delicate touch of a child's heart surgeon replaced the one strand of hair that had fallen from rank back into place, opened a small clutch purse and pulled out a rather antique looking perfume atomiser and puffed the air.
"Same time next week Trevor?"
Tammy asked politely, swirling her arm and hand around in the air as she coughed.
Trevor looked at the rose colored glass bottle in his hand and gently squeezed it.
"This was my Mum's..."

Finding that spot in the sun where you can bathe and bask and not quite burn. A place where you go and the air flows free, that place of stillness, a welcome break for a creature like you and me.
"Crippled, bent, broken, riddled and torn, I have the cure if you'd just hear me out over a cup of sweet black blood tea."
Standing at the oh-so-familiar crossroads that I had visited over the centuries, I shook my head and gave out the usual sigh. "Every time it's the same boring, rattling, lame old speech, Derek!"
Derek was a Crossroads Demon, pretty much your standard deal-making demon for fame, fortune, power, and life extensions. He dragged his cane through the dusty sun-scorched ground and drew a line. "Go on then - cross the line if you dare, Dani Boy!"
"Seriously? Are we doing this right now Derek? Surely you've got better things to be doing like, oh I don't know, ripping souls out of people's bodies for the hell of it?"  I shouted, placing my one hand on my hip.
Derek flung his head to one side as if a major insult had slapped him across the face. "You know that makes you look gay, right?" 
I gritted my teeth and seethed. "OK, whatever, Derek, we'll do it your way if makes you happy." I slowly hobbled my way over to him and broke the line by rubbing my foot through it. "There. Happy now? I've crossed the line. I've broken the boundaries between worlds. I've crossed from the purist light into the eternal darkness. Blah blah blah..."
Derek whipped his head round.  "Do it properly or don't do it at all" he demanded as he smoothed his hair back into place.
My shoulders dropped and I let out another sigh. "OK. From the top, but with feeling this time."  Derek nodded and smiled smugly.
"I crossed the line. I broke the boundaries between worlds. I crossed from the purist light into the eternal darkness. I call upon you, dark demon."
Derek interrupted - "I call upon you oh great dark demon!"
"Oh my God, Derek! Really! Did the Hell Hounds use your cereal bowl as a litter tray again?"
I turned and shuffled over to a small wooden bench, paint peeling and bleached by the sun, and slumped onto it. "Just juice me up Derek and put it on my tab... please?"
"Why you insist on doing the whole 'calling up from the dark below' is beyond me - I texted you like an hour ago to meet here and you were here waiting for me. You were here before me, Derek!"
Derek walked over, pulled his handkerchief from his top pocket, unfolded it, and placed it on the bench before sitting down. A few empty seconds passed.
"I didn't make quota last month", he said, staring straight out into the desert. I turned and tilted my head to one side.
"You didn't make quota?"  I said with some surpise and raised eyebrows.
"Nope - first time since the Black Death."
I joined Derek's fixed gaze out into the emptiness. "Damn, Derek, I'm sorry to hear that. How is Lucy by the way?" I politely enquired. Derek sniffed.  "She's a little irritable - you know full of fire, a tad cranky. She sends her best as always." I smiled. "I never did understand why she likes you so much, I mean look at you - a failing mess of blood, bone and gristle. A five year life extension on rotation I might add, hardly worth one's presence... no offence, of course."
Taking in a deep lungful of the desert night's cold air, I replied. "I fight fire with fire, Derek, what can I tell ya? She likes the heat of my kitchen and I make some mean hot chicken wings."
He turned back to stare out into the darkness. "Hm" he remarked disdainfully. "Well she does like her little pets."
I was slightly puzzled, I'd never seen Derek quite so worked up in all the years that had flowed by. "Hey man, you're really worried about this aren't you?"
Derek jerked his head up high, jutted his chin out,  and ran his finger around the inside of his collar. "To say I'm worried would be a regrettable insight on the matter, but yes I am somewhat uncomfortable with my current situation and I may have to seek a counselor for professional advice."
I pulled my phone from my pocket and clicked the calendar app. "I can fit you in next Tuesday around four o'clock - that work for you?" Derek brushed a hand across his leg and stood up, picked the handkerchief up from the bench and neatly folded it back into his breast pocket. "Tuesday will be fine. Here - payment in advance." He clicked his fingers and vanished.
I shook my head in disbelief of his arrogance - which you would have thought I would have been used to by now - and threw my Zimmer frame into the back of the truck, jigged on the spot and shouted out into the night.
"Yeah, see you next Tuesday... Derek."

New blogspot for Audio Glitch

Taken settler in a small blogspot page, where I'm currently posting my off cuts or the smaller chunks of Audio Glitch tracks.  At some point I plan to add playable wav links so others can download samples that I'm creating.
I've wanted for sometime to slide into the background - It's easier to post there and quicker.
Also there isn't a lose to your sound or audio levels on play back, although uploads are 100MB per upload from your desktop and play back is through a YouTube player.
It would seem unlike YouTube the quality is in the audio through a blogspot upload rather than the quality being pumped into the video if uploaded through YouTube and a lose of audio can be heard.

For sometime now and a few of you will know I've been sreaching within my music productions for a style a certian style of miminal and mystery, sublime and disorganized a undisciplined rambling mixer or sounds that no matter how much they shouldn't blend, I'm going to pit them off against each other and hear what happens.
Sounds within sounds that bleed even more sounds - it's the strangest and at times a bewildering audio high.

Black Mirror Nosedive Review

It was a Friday afternoon, my partner had the afternoon off, I was kicking back on the sofa and we stumbled across Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror episode, Nosedive, on Neflix.
I personally have an intertest in Charlie's anarchic style of video mash-up and writing, and hands down, it was better than having to sit through The Great British Bake Off! Having said that, I'm not a huge fan of Charlie's work, just someone who likes to watch good telly. Call me old fashioned, but there's good viewing and then there's just utter thoughtless shit on the box. And Charlie uses thought and lots of it, capturing the very real essence of social media rating systems. Showing us how we live in this not-so-fantasy world that was played out in this short but beautifully portrayed and powerful film.
For myself I would put me around the 1.4 rating, still struggling to get to that all important 4.5. I mean who's going to rate a 1.4?  Regardless of their skills or hard work through out the years.
As I watched I got a familiar sense of it's not what you know but who you know, and it's better being friends with the hip and cool "In Crowd" in the vain hope that they will pass you up the ladder and boost your ratings.
To be honest when I post a video, or piece of music, or a write an article, I'm the first one that likes it, hearts it, or thumbs it up.  I have to - I'm more or less the only fucker who's going to read it, watch it or listen to it.  Is that shameful or just trying to save face, or am I just proud of my work?  Like I said, I'm a 1.4. We do what we can, every little helps because nobody watches a YouTuber with a thousand subcribers or follows a Twitter account with a few hundred followers - are you fucking mental? They're obviously shit and are never worth a few minutes of your valuable lifeforce and you couldn't possibly been seen to be in direct involvement with them because this would harm your virtual street cred.
I guess the saddest thing here that rang true for me was the main character called Lacie who tried so hard to get her rating up by pretending to be someone she wasn't and to be in with that higher society of friends to further her dreams.
That is me as my comedy character "Kathleen Dawson". But oddly enough, Kate is liked, hearted, and thumbed up tenfold over me, the man who's underneath it all.  I actually have had the opposite result over the years and Kate is easily a 4.8 on the media social scale. And all I am is that person in the final scene screaming "FUCK YOU!"
Anyways a brilliant piece and I expect nothing less from Charlie Brooker. I happily rate this as a 5.0, all the stars.

From time to time I like to write my thoughts about comedians and British comedy.
I believe my last review was about the British comedy awards 2015 and I felt that British comedy had lost it's way and that British comedy and it's comedians had fallen into a ground hog day of lame pannel shows of limited interest.  It's not that they aren't any good, it's more that we have too many of them and I personally feel this to be lazy or prehaps that production companies aren't willing to invest in new acts and we end up with masses of fresh comedains with nowhere to showcase thier funny bones apart from these carbon copied pannel shows.

I've decided to write about Johnny because to me he is the last great comedy character actor that we had.  He broke all the rules pushed the boundaries danced with taboos and told you all to "Fuck off."  He was as Johnny Vegas the under dog the sad clown a loser showing key elements of any great comedian of worth. 
He was over weight drank too much smoked too much shouted alot and told the truth, there was a little bit a Johnny in us all.  Well maybe not all of us but most of us!
I first came across Johnny in 1995 on a TV show called Win lost or draw and I think this was Johnny's first appears on Britsh television.  Although Michael wasn't Johnny at this point, it give him that all important first break that all comedians are looking for including myself as a would-be character comedy actor.
 
Naturally I could write about his past life experiences of being a potter etc... but honestly I feel most people know this about him, hell I've been a roofer labourer greens keeper and so on, we all come from somewhere in our past lifes.
Which is why it's been a great delight to watch Micheal over the years steal the stage and lime light at award ceremonies, going over time and being dragged off stage only to see him a few minutes later stagger back on and continue ranting.  A joy to watch his character develop and mature with shows as 18 stone of idiot, Ideal, Benidorm and Dead Man Weds which sadly only got one series written by Dave Spikey.

Johnny Vegas gave us real pure comedy as brash and grim as he was as a character he was gentle kind and thoughtful and would take us all on a wild invisible rollercoaster ride.
I know at this point that this may read as a eulogy, but in some respects Michael has pushed his character of Johnny Vegas to one side and matured into his ownself.
In a way Johnny was singing and shouting from the roof tops and getting a few pressing matters of his chest whilst getting paid and having a blast.
If I could ask Michael one question?  When are you and Kathy burke going to work together?
I wish him well in his further career and look forward to seeing him in any new projects.

Audio Glitch Electronic Music

Audio Glitch
Been working on a few tracks lately under the name "Audio Glitch" as a side project, most of these will be drone and minimal but with heavy atmosphere. For me as back bedroom recording nobody artist this is a style am most happy fiddling about with at the moment.  I can relax and take my time over these pieces :)  Get the depth and distance right and hopefully present and interesting listen...!

Had another side project to deal with of the pass few weeks of writing three Hip-Hop tracks for a person who was looking for some music to write and spit raps to, so that was interesting for me to beadle to flip out these tracks in a different style.  Not really sure if much will come of it, but there seems to me a small about of interest in my ability to mix and match music genders... If only they knew ^ ^

 It's been nice to make 4 or 5 short X Rated video bloggers, nice in the respect that I can just do them straight off with no faffing about.  It also allows me to use lots of new Glitch art clips and odd effects of which is a major bonus.
Pictured above in order top to bottom are screen shots from 4 new pieces of music I've been playing with.  Two drone scapes one ambient and "Follow the evidence" which really has got a thing going on!

May run the odd X Rated Surreal blogs on and off - Dawson/Kate is having a well deserved time out and a spring clean!  As an independent artist of mixed flavors I have to split off and produce a range of things rather than just one thing {boring} I make a lot so I give a lot.

Although Kate has proved to be a highly liked character and has build a small and humble following, I still need the time out to work on other projects.  In other words the Cross-dressing still continues - You just don't get to see it... Yet...!  So I'm more or less just about the music at the minute.  It's not as rewarding as Kate in views or comments etc... But rewards come in many different forms and feeling :)

Multiple Sclerosis Brain Melt

To make it perfectly clear if I upload a video about my Multiple Sclerosis it's NEVER for sympathy!
They are uploaded to either gain awareness give support to others or for my own study of the disease.
As the proud owner of said disease I am interested in how it effects my body and mind over time.  I can actually learn a lot about it just by watching myself back, and in return see where I am losing ground.
Recently somebody commented they liked the way I speeded my videos up!
The reason behind that is because I talk very very slowly, so you either get a video of me talking a normal speed which would make a standard video say six minutes long or I speed it up and you get four minutes and something that sounds normal and a little bit comical to the ear.
You have to work the illness in your favor - make the most of it - use it as it uses you...!
Unless you have the illness you can't know what its like on a mental or physical level.

Hopefully in some small way this will show you one side of the many faces of MS.

Minimal Sounds

So to my first little solo offering I've built up a short ambient piece of music which I felt had a slight Boards of Canada feel to it in places or more to the point I'd had stumbled across a few sounds that I'd heard often used in their work.
On this particular track produced using Reason 7-8 I've used the following.

1- Sound Cell After Glow
2- NN-XT + RV7000
3- Dr Octo + Alligator
4- Antidote

Sound Cell is a lovely little refill, packed full of those really handy little ambient sounds that can really make a difference when constructing a track.

NN-XT which I always use for running my samples through, mainly because its easy to use and does what it's suppose to do with zero fuss!

Dr Octo and the amazing Rex loops - This tool is the boss - If your dead lazy and can't be bothered to sequence a pattern, then Dr Octo is your new best friend :)

The video isn't much to speak of, but I was more or less trying out a few new filters and wanted a moving object that would allow me to see the changes as it plays out, it's more an experiment of colors and layers of footage to gain sharpness and a testing ground for future videos to come.
So there you go, short nice little jolly minimal ambient piece of music and a crappy testing ground video :)

Starting over

So I thought it would be a good idea to start the year with the last video from 2015 that I didn't get time to finish, but if I'm honest it actually works better this way.
I wanted the video to be more of a clean slate, and a fresh start of a new line of video.
I've invested more into my music software this year to give me the chance to develop my sound tracking skills, writing small pieces of ambient styled tracks.

Which gives me plenty of scope to come up with some equally interesting looking videos.

Its been quite the trip...!
Unsure on when to finish... This rampant wild orgy of times gone by.
I think it's the attraction to scanning hours of vintage video clips, each one has its purpose
and lays a golden egg or two.  That one tantalizing moment of footage that changes everything...!
 I feel it's one of those grey areas of creating something that will just run it's own course and when it's time to move it to one side, I'll shuffle into the next concept?

Also it's been nice to spend sometime off camera, you can quite easily find yourself living your life on camera and this can be an unhealthy thing to do if your continuously updating the world or who wants to know your life's timeline and all it's in's and out's ups and downs.
Lucky enough I bounce off of most things such as writing and music making editing cross-dressing etc... something to do with spice and variety so I'm told...!

Naturally as a total nerd of video making of all flavors I do have quite a lot of what I would class "Basic Stock" videos to post.  I've actually held back over the last few posts and feel it's really not worth me putting up single videos anymore. 
And am much more comfortable uploading bigger chunks of video with more volume of content, as shown in the "Children of Loki" or "The Naturally Strange" videos.
Some one once told me "If your going to make a sandwich, then make it a meal."
So I equate that to my video making and make a real visual meal of it...

And what of Kathleen Dawson or Just Kate?
Again and using totally the wrong choice of words, It's a suck it and see type of deal...!
I have many plans for her for next year and have been working on a stand-up rountie for her.
I still hold this dream of taking Kathleen to the stage and trying her out on an open mic night at a comedy club.

Music: I thought I better add a few words about my current music making.
After getting slowly sucked into the COL videos I found that sampling the actual video clips could be quite interesting to play with.  Doesn't sound much, but trust me it opens a whole new world of fiddling... I.e. "Don't give up" very pleased with this cross over of video audio clips and music software, very interesting results... we be working hard to improve.

As always you've got to have dreams, when your nightmares are waking up each day and seeing what world we truly live on.
So there we have it... as about as much as I wish to report at this moment in time.
Things are pretty sweet at the moment COL will run as long as it does.
I will be posting some very strange, naturally strange videos.
Music is growing and turning a new corner.
And Kathleen will at some point take to the stage with a new look and routine...maybe?

This project was ultimately started to push myself in the writing and recording of sounds or short musical sounds bites.
I've developed quite a keen interest in incidental music.
"Music used in a film or play as a background to create or enhance a particular atmosphere."
In some cases its harder than it sounds..! 
It becomes a battle and puzzle of wills of which comes first the Chicken "Footage" or the egg "Music."
How do you go about writing a piece of music to fit what your actually watching?
Is it going to flow with the footage, is it going to make any sense, should it make any sense?
Should I write real time to the footage and soundtrack & score as the footage unfolds?

Needless to says each piece out of the four presented there individual problems.
This has been a very "Sound" project and one I'm sure I will continue to explore.
Perhaps in time I'll work on a second Imaginary Album and see what emerges...

The British Comedy Awards 2014 Review

The British Comedy Awards 2014 Review

I felt somewhat justified this year after claiming British comedy was a dead parrot.
Even more so after giving the lifetime award to the Monty Python team and not rightly to the late and great Rik Mayall who only got a two second flash up on screen with other comedians that had sadly passed away this year on the end of show credits.
I can't even begin to let the venom flow from my keys as I sit here rocking in my chair.
As Rik would say "You utter bastards".
Rik Mayall, teamed with Ade Edmondson, brought us some of the greatest comedy over the past 30+ years that tickled and tortured our funny bones to the brink of heavenly delight.
Most of the show wasn't even a show due to a large number of winners not being there due to work obligations and rather fake ungrateful pointless pre-recorded footage was showed in its place.
Jonathan Ross tried his best to sail this rather limp and knackered old vessel through the night by showing us old VT of the Comedy Awards of past golden years when it really was a  funny and great viewing experience.  Even bringing on the village idiot,  Joey Essex, couldn't help this ship find harbour, but there again, if you're going to wheel out Joey Essex, the lights are never going to be on.
Naturally The Inbetweeners collected the giant paperweight award for best Comedy Film and rightly so.  Although it must be pointed out that  Joe Thomas has a touch of the Dorian Grey about his person and should be studied for his secret of youth.  The man just gets younger looking every time he appears on TV - what is his secret?
Best Comedy Breakthrough Artist was awarded to Nick Helm which I was happy to see.  The man brings a fresh and much needed style of the downtrodden clown with a dash of Norman Bates as he flares from fool to psycho as his character unfolds.
Best Sketch Show and Best TV Comedy Actor, went to Ducky Harry Enfield.  One of old boys that knows the ropes and played with his minions as he collected his awards.  It was nice to see Harry have fun and poke fun at his ducky friends.
And what of poor lonely Matt Berry... Up for six awards and only got handed one!  In the form of Best New Comedy Programme.  I felt slightly sorry for this beefy bear of a man who it seemed was up for one hell of a night of winning awards left right and centre, but it was not to be for this gently bearded giant.
So we move onto what was an incredible night for Irish comedians it would seem.  With two awards presented to Graham Norton, one handed over to the very funny Aisling Bea, and the much deceived award of the Writers' Guild Of Great Britain Award going to Brendan O'Carroll, who rightly pointed out that comedy is the hardest business in showbusiness on which I think we can all agree...  And with that said, perhaps British comedians need to work a little harder next year, or should we change the title of the show to the Irish Comedy Awards as stated on the show.
So let us round this off and finish with a few comedians that didn't make the grade in this list of winners that most of us didn't watch on the telly for 2014.
Simon Day, Adam Buxton, Micky Flanagan, Rik Mayall, Richard Ayoade, Lee Evans, Greg Davies, Robin Ince, Sean Lock, Dave Spikey, Michael Pennington (aka Johnny Vegas), Sean Lock, Stewart Lee, Roisin Conaty...
Naturally I can keep typing and typing these great names... But I think you get the point...!  We can only hope in 2015 that the show picks up the pace and keeps up with not only British comedy and comedians, but just comedy in general.  4/10 - you lost a point because you didn't put stairs in the middle and everyone just kept climbing up on stage.
